The Golden Hunted

They are the only two of their kind, and their sole purpose of existence is to be hunted and never caught. They have carried many wounds through the centuries, but always heal. Sometimes they are found together, and they enjoy each others company, other times they cannot stand to be in the same part of the world as their pair, for they grow apart and together in endless cycles through the years. There is much mythology surrounding them, for they exist for myth, and mercilessly they have been sought for the the wealth and prosperity that is believed would come with their death or capture. Artemis considers them sacred, and for it hunts and harms them sometimes the most heavily of all.
